For our Participatory Design Methods class, we were tasked to come up with a co-design process to create a solution for climate change within 'Downtown Boston'.
We came up with our wicked problem "Downtown Boston is a high-traffic neighborhood and, simultaneously, one of the neighborhoods most at-risk for experiencing severe consequences of climate change. The climate concerns most salient for Downtown Boston (as detailed in Boston’s Climate Ready initiative) are heat islands due to rising temperatures and increases in coastal flooding, and these changes would impact socially vulnerable populations more than anyone else who interacts with Downtown Boston."
